The Genz Log House in the Forest is Mother Nature's own recipe for peace and quiet, surrounded by the hills and valleys of Western Wisconsin.

The House

The Genz Log House in the Forest is an air conditioned 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home situated on 160 acres of forested and farmed land in western Wisconsin.  The second floor Loft Bedroom has a king size bed, sitting area with fireplace, hide-a-bed, and access to a second story deck.  This bedroom shares a bath with the Dorm Bedroom which has a queen bed and two twin beds.  The Master Bedroom with queen bed, private bath and walk-in closet is on the main floor.

About the House:
  • The large fully equipped kitchen has a gas freestanding fireplace in the eating area.  There is a new stove,
refrigerator and microwave, along with all new dishes, cookware, and utensils.  A brick deck with a picnic
table is right outside the kitchen door along with a covered deck and a covered walkway with a large gentle
    swing.
  • The large comfortable living room has a fireplace with a heating insert, a television with VCR/DVD player,
and leather couches.  Available videos and DVDs can be ordered upon arrival.  A piano and corner reading
area make the living room comfortable for non-viewers too.
  • A dining room has an antique table which has enough leaves to seat 10-12.  The view of the forest from
both living room and dining room is wonderful.  The quiet is a blessing for those whose lives include much
busy noise and confusion.  This is a resting place for all.
  • The upstairs loft is open to the living room below and contains four bookshelves filled with unusual and
interesting books and games.  There is a small seating area overlooking the space below which invites a
    quiet read.
  • Just off the kitchen is a laundry and half-bath.  The washer and drier along with soaking sink - for clothes
and even babies - make a long stay perfect.
  • There is a small sunroom/studio with growing plants, a two person bright spot for morning (or anytime) coffee
drinking.  There is a sink located there, perhaps for an artistic project cleanup.
  • Floors are tile and oak with many area rugs.  Walls are pine and cedar.  Cupboards are butternut.  The
soaring hemlock purlins, solid douglasfir trusses and clerestory windows create an awe inspiring atmosphere.
Sunshine bathes the surroundings with a lovely glow.  Curtains on most windows are unnecessary.
  • The walls are furnished with framed posters and artwork from the owners travels.
